TEPPFA Forum 2015:

TEPPFA Forum 2015 took place in Le Plaza Hotel in Brussels on April 13th and 14th, 2015. This second Forum, as underlined by TEPPFA General Manager Tony Calton, has been the best scenario for TEPPFA members to present their points of view to policy makers.
During the conference, the 150 present participants had the opportunity to contribute through various sessions and to attend interesting demonstrations of plastic related industries offered in the exhibitors’ area (Adescor, Kiwa, MOL, VinylPlus, Vito, EurActiv and Van Werven).

The first day, the Forum hosted great speakers from the European Parliament, MEP Marcus Pretzell, the European Commission, DG GROWTH Director Mr. Gwenole Cozigou and representatives of important companies operating in the industry, among them, Niels Rune Solgaard-Nielsen (CEO Pipelife), Frédéric Midy (CEO EMEA Aliaxis) and Hans Telgen (CEO Tessenderlo). The conference, rich in debates and networking opportunities, has been valuable and productive and has shown how this industry is developing and going towards a vision focused on resource efficiency and sustainability, an industry which is capable to respond to the needs of an increasing world population. To close the first day, the opening cocktail, first, and the gala dinner afterwards saw the participation of special guests: MEP Paul Rübig and contributors of the following day, Michele Galatola (DG ENVIRONMENT) and Gwenole Cozigou (DG GROWTH).

The second day of the Forum, many other outstanding speakers brought their contribution to the dialogue entitled “Can sustainable construction products build sustainable buildings?”, while, later on, the discussion moved on the possibility of “Benchmarking as the future of environment assessment for construction products”. In the second part of the day, the presentations focused mainly on plastic pipes different applications.
The conference closed with the speeches of Tony Calton, Claudia Topalli, TEPPFA Deputy General Manager and Niels Rune Solgaard-Nielsen, TEPPFA President.

Also this year, TEPPFA has been able (and successful) to take to the surface a really relevant and delicate theme, tackling it on different levels and perspectives through high level speakers and with the big support of its corporate sponsors: Rollepaal, Bærlocher, PE100+ Association, PVC4Pipes.
